Half-Life is a first-person shooter that requires the player to perform combat tasks and puzzle solving to advance through the game. Unlike the most of its peers at that time, Half-Life has used scripted sequences, such as a Vortigaunt ramming down a door, to advance major plot points. Compared to most first-person shooters of the time, which relied on cut-scene intermissions to detail their plotlines. Half-Life's story is told entirely by means of scripted sequences, keeping the player in control of the first-person viewpoint. In line with this, the game has no cut-scenes, and the player rarely loses the ability to control Gordon, who never speaks and is never actually seen in the game. The player sees "through his eyes" for the entire length of the game. Half-Life has no "levels", it instead divides the game into chapters, whose titles flash on the screen as the player moves through the game. Progress through the world is continuous, except for short pauses for loading.

The game regularly integrates puzzles, such as navigating a maze of conveyor belts or using nearby boxes to build a small staircase to the next area the player must travel too. Some puzzles involve using the environmental to kill an enemy, like turning on a steam valve to spray hot steam at their enemies. 

There are dew "bosses" in the conventional sense, where the player defeats a superior opponent by direct confrontation. Instead, such organisms occasionally define chapters, and the player is generally expected to ude the terrain, rather than firepower, to kill the "boss". Late in the game, the player receives a "long jump module" for the HEV suit, which allows the player to increase the horizontal distance and speed of jumps by crouching before jumping. The player must rely on this ability to navigate various platformer-style jumping puzzles in Xen toward the end of the game.

For the most part the player battles through the game alone, but is occasionally assisted by non-player characters; specifically security guards and scientists who help the player; the guards will fight alongside the player, and both guards and scientists can assist in reaching new areas and impart relevant plot information. A wide array of alien enemies populate the game, including headcrabs and Vortigaunts. The player also faces human opponents, in particular, Hazardous Environment Combat Unit (HECU) Marines and black ops assassins who are dispatched to contain the extra-dimensional threats and silence all witnesses.

The House Of The Dead 3 is a 2002 light gun arcade game with a horror zombie-survival theme, and it's the third installment to The House Of The Dead series of video games, devloped by Wow Entertaint and Sega. It was later ported to the Microsoft Windows in 2005. The game continues with the story of the previous games and introduces new gameplay concepts such as story  branching. The game's protagonist is Lisa Rogan, daughter of Thomas Rogan, the first game's main character, and players Lisa OR G During the final stage, players control Daniel Curien as a character in last.

In The House Of The Dead 3, the player is given options for navigating through the game prior to the start of most stages , ultimately going through the same areas with different results dependent on order chosen.

There is another important difference, absence of civillians. Unlike the first two Series, in which players could rescue various people in peril, This game contains no extra personnel beyond those central to the plot. Instead, "Rescue Events" occur during each stage in which the player will need to his or her partner from attacking zombies. AN extra life is rewarded for an each successful rescue. If all rescue events are successful, the players find crates in the room before the final boss that, when shot, drop a lot of bonuses and lives.

The House Of The Dead is a first-person light gun arcade + action relative game, first released by Sega in Japan in September 13, 1996, with the international released following in March 4, 1997.

Players assume the rol of agents Thomas Rogan and "G" in their efforts to combat the products of the dangerous, inhumane experiments of Dr. Curien, a mad scientist who make the people turn into walking zombies.

The House of the dead is a rail shooter light gun game. Players uses mouse & keyboards in the PC to aim and shoot at approaching zombies.The character's pistols use magazines which hold 6 rounds ; player reload by shooting away from the screen. A set of torches next to the magazines of each player represents remaining health. When a player sustains damage or shoots a civillian, one of their torches is removed.The player dies when all torches are lost.

First-aid packs are available throughout the game which restore one torch. These are found either in the possession of civilians whome the player has rescued or inside breakable objects. Similarly, these are also special items located in breakable objects tat will grant a bonus to whoever shoots it.

Throughout the course of the game, player are faced with numerous situations in which their action o inaction will have an effect on the direction of gameplay. This is exemplified in the opening stage of the game when a civilian is about to thrown from the bridge to his death. If the player saves the civilian, they will enter the house directly through the front door; however, if the player fails to rescue the civilian, the character is redirected to an underground route through the sewers. If the player rescues all civilians, a secret room  full of the lives and bonuses is revealed toward the end of the game.
